Yes, I have disappeared in the black abyss called my life since I got the good news of Gojira’s visa being approved. :P The consulate officer he dealt with was apparently very sweet and told him not to be nervous and he was then able to answer all the questions she asked him. He actually thanked me and told me how grateful he was for me because I had searched the internet high and low for all the possible questions they would ask him at the interview. I had provided him a list of all those questions with all the answers in order to prepare him. not that he didn’t know the answers but it was easy for him to remember facts and the time of events in our relationship.
It took two weeks for the good news to actually sink in. And I think it’s still in the “sinking in” process. I was literally in heaven and then of course the panic of what’s going to happen hit me next. Not panic of him coming, but things to do before he gets here, like filing papers, looking for driving schools for him, getting his employment authorization forms, applying for marriage licenses, getting his wedding band made etc. etc. There’s also a particular order that everything needs to be done in. Like I need to be married before I apply for health insurance so that our premiums will hopefully be cheaper. But then I can’t enroll him for driving school before getting the insurance cuz it would be a big risk to do that.
I had also been thinking that with so much waiting and turmoil that we’ve been through we would want some alone time before we get down to all this business. Kind of a breather before we get into all the complications and matters of settling him down. So I started looking for jacuzzi suites in santa barbara. I found some really good deals for a two night stay with the view of the ocean and complimentary breakfast. seemed like the most affordable getaway plan I could manage and within close driving distance.
I happened to mention it to my Mom that I was looking for a quick getaway after the court marriage and she found me a steal deal with Orbitz where I get a 7 night stay in Las Vegas for 400 something bucks which includes two free tickets to a Vegas show. Just thinking about a week of alone time with him sounded so much better than our initial Santa Barbara plans! So Gojira and I decided to take up the offer to Vegas in the last week of Feb. We’re staying at the Excalibur which is a hotel shaped like a castle!! (Yes for the Prince and Princess to come and stay <3)
My excitement soared to ecstasy as I realized the selection of free Vegas show tickets included quite a few Cirque du Soleil shows. They also had Disney’s Lion King and a couple of not so famous shows as well. I have been in love with Cirque du Soleil ever since I saw their “O” show back in 2000. It was so majestic and beautiful.. acrobatic flips and dives on the trapeze dangling high above the stage and then suddenly they let go and drop to what you think is their final plummet to death but the stage synchronized with their moves opens up into a huge pool where they begin to do synchronized swimming.. the whole show doesn’t even start on stage. you’re looking waiting, watching and if suddenly something moving catches your eye above and a gorgeous woman has contorted her body within a chandelier and is as if emerging from a cocoon, waking up to the world… this is not even half of it.. i can’t even begin to explain how amazing this show is. so go see this once in a lifetime experience if you can..
I told Gojira just a few months back that one day I would take him to see it. It was such a life changing experience for me. I seriously would have chosen “O” again just to give Gojira the experience of seeing what I saw.. but “O” wasnt available in the choices offered. They had Ka, Zumanity, Love, Elvis, Criss Angel and some others. So basically the final selection came down to Ka and Zumanity. Since this was going to be our getaway after our court marriage and the fact that this is the month of love (Februaryyyy), and we have a lot of ermm… “catching up to do” it only made perfect sense to me in choosing Zumanity. I saw the preview on their website and it looks as sensual and sexy as it sounds. It sounds stupid but I was even more intrigued thinking about the fact that this will be my first topless show that I’ll be going to see. Ooh La La.. hahah.. Zumanity is the 2 words Humanity and Zoo put together.. This is because the show is like a zoo exhibit of sensual human desire, on display for the world to see.
I checked out a couple of reviews on this show and it seems like the women like it better. I know Gojira was somewhat interested in Criss Angel’s show but he let me choose Zumanity cuz he know I wanted to see it so badly! :)
Besides the show I’m excited to take Gojira around to see the attractions in Vegas. Finally, Finally, Finally he’ll be right next to me experiencing life with me.. holding hands, kissing, walking together.. it’s gonna be so exciting to get to be a normal couple and transition from long distance couple to a regular one that goes on dates, argues about which route is faster when rushing through traffic, yelling “honey I’m home” when racing through the door after a hard day at work. haha yes I’m corny I know.
My favorite Vegas attraction is hands down the Bellagio Fountains. When I saw them for the first time it was Christmas and I got to see them synchronized to “Carol Of The Bells”.
I’m looking forward to visiting attractions like these and having our picture taken in front of all of them.. (I’m definitely going to kiss him in front of the fountains ;) We are honestly going to be on a tight budget since we’ll have a lot of expenses with getting him settled here in the US. But I don’t think its going to matter. There are plenty of things to do and see in Vegas without shelling out a fortune. I’ve also scoured through Yelp reviews for good street food and cheap dining options. So far I’ve found a crepe place,a hot dog and hamburger place, a hot sandwich place, a falafel place and a few others. I was surprised and even more kicked that there are certain restaurants that offer secret dishes that are off the menu during graveyard hours. You have to specifically request for the dish and only then do you get the option. For example at a restaurant called Mr. Lucky’s 24/7 at the Hard Rock Hotel, there is a steak and shrimp special for $7.77. And thought neither he or I are big drinkers I know once or twice we will want to get our drink on. I found some places that offer $1 frozen margaritas and jello shots! woo hoo!! and of course I’m hoping I will find a good bar tender that can make Gojira’s favorite drink. A White Russian. Till date he hasn’t found the perfect one. I hope Vegas will be the place he can get a good drink like that :)
We decided to a small splurge on um… adult toys to take with us to Vegas. I don’t even want to think about what customs is gonna do when they check our bags. ball gag, check… racy lingerie, check…horse whip, check… LOL! :P
Anyways that’s all I have to report now.. Oh yeah and we’re going to IHOP’s for Valentine’s Day.. Yes my Romeo specifically booked his flight so he would be here in time for Valentine’s day. and yeah I love IHOP. never been there for dinner though.. it was funny cuz he was cribbing and complaining at first but when I showed him their menu from the IHOP website and showed him that they had steak he was like OK I’m In. lol… all u need is steak to make a man happy :P jk.. but yeah we need to be cheap and chirpy for some time till he can start working and most of the big expenses are out of the way.. But looking at their menu and from experiencing their breakfast menu I know they won’t let me down!
Gojira’s been busy doing all the shopping to prepare for coming here.. Just 10 days more and he’ll be in my arms. He bought a really hot cybershot camera for us (just in time for our Vegas trip!) He also bought me a sari to wear in my sister’s wedding which will be in May. He has really good taste so I’m excited to see what it looks like. I begged and pleaded for him to send me pics of it or to tell me the color of it but he was as tight lipped as a I dont know what??!!! lol.Then he got me a “Dreaming” Tommy Hilfiger perfume… It sounds really nice and pretty from the review. He’s also getting me a fancy watch I can wear for formal occasions. So exciting!! He’s bought me a few sandals, heels and brown boots! Never have I been so pampered, just love feeling this attention on me.. I don’t think anyone’s ever paid this much attention to me.. I’m not so much a materialistic person but feels nice to be loved :D I finally had to tell him today not to buy me anymore stuff!! jeez he’s not gonna have room to pack it all silly boy… Can’t believe we’re at the 10 day countdown.. This week’s flying by so I’m not complaining. Last week was really slow.. I think with so much to do and plan and think the days will go by quickly..
Gonna drive down to LAX to pick him up from the airport next Saturday so I’ve been told to practice driving on the highway.. so practice starts tonight after work. Today when I practice I’ll be alone but I think I can do it.. I’m more comforted that mom will be in the car with me on my drive to LAX but it’s a matter of pride that I’LL be the one driving to pick up my man from the airport. Can’t wait to get all dolled up for him that day.
Life is really, really good right now. Since I posted this there’s only 8 days left.. woohoo… can’t wait for all the excitement <3
